January Week 3 Featured Teacher - Melanie Hallbeck
This week's Featured Teacher is Melanie Hallbeck! She has been a teacher with Alamogordo Public Schools for 10 years, and currently teaches 12th-grade Government/Economics at Alamogordo High School.
Why do you love being an APS Teacher?
"I love being a teacher because it is something new every day and I am consistently challenged to become more skilled and better at what I have chosen to do. Teaching is a purposeful and rewarding career, especially when you get to be so lucky as to help students navigate their way through their world."

What is your favorite part of your job?
"Building productive and positive relationships with students and being privileged to learn about them and their lives is my favorite part. Getting to teach about government and all the history attached to it is a close second."
Fun Fact: I love to paint and draw.
Her co-worker shared that, Ms. Hallbeck is a very kind and accommodating teacher. She often goes out of her way to show the students kindness and respect by example and helps them ensure success.
